If photography is an immediate reaction, drawing is a meditation, as Henri Cartier Bresson once observed. The sentiment is shared by Sudarman Angir, one of Indonesia’s best sketchers. Propelled by a love of architecture and heritage sites, the Surabaya-based artist has crafted works that stem from the meditation that he does on location to develop his experimental visual art.
