In Indonesia, the furniture business can be considered a grass-roots industry that can be started without too much financial backing. At least, that was the thought of Joshua Simandjuntak, a prominent figure behind Karsa before he started the company. The key was to make everything more practical by putting forward quality and creativity. Creativity for him is a great strength that can be used as a renewable resource for continuous and flexible ideas —including those that can be considered economically sound. These are the ideas that he applies in designing winning products and in dealing with the daily operational works of Karsa.
