Many people believe that life in a house feels rather different to what it is like inside an apartment unit. This not only relates to the different types of building, but also to the lifestyle that living at each entails. People’s reluctance to live inside a limited, vertical space of an apartment unit was directly addressed by Intiland when they laid out the basic concept of Sumatra36, their latest upscale and low-density apartment block in Surabaya. Here, spatial and discomfort problems that might deter many from living inside an apartment block are almost non-existent.
