The Rustic Revelation

Story by Anton Adianto | Photo by Bagus Tri Laksono

More than 100 years ago, William James, a famed philosopher, came up with the idea of the pragmatic theory of truth. According to him, “an idea, to be suggestive, must come to the individual with the force of revelation.” In light of this, the idea to marry two major themes: vintage, which is represented by the industrial style, the rustic finishing and the colonial era, with contemporary, as reflected in the casual fine dining and molecular mixology theme, is somehow impossible to achieve. In order to realize the idea, an inspiration and a strong force of revelation is needed. Yet, in Colonial Cuisine & Molecular in Lippo Mall Kemang, Kemang Village, all the elements mentioned above are brilliantly brought together to create something worth noticing.
