All deserts are almost always identical with heat, aridity and extreme weather conditions. In her book “Dreams of the Compass Rose,” famed Russian-born American writer Vera Nazarian comments on the dreadful condition of this barren landscape. One of the quotes from the book reads, “In the desert, the only God is a well.” Yet Qatar, a country located on the Arab Peninsula, refuses to succumb to the harsh climate of the land. Aided by the government’s directives, the country strives to maximize its development, including constructing a spectacular education project that spans a sprawling 14 sqkm. Built in 2000, the mega project is called Education City.
